The presentation will include a review of the new climate regarding sexual harassment, and a summary of key court decisions, including Supreme Court and Tenth Circuit cases. There will be a discussion of preventative measures to
be taken by the prudent HR Manager, such as having an anti-harassment policy that is widely disseminated, providing employee training without recipitating complaints, setting up an effective complaint procedure, useful investigation tips, and how to deal with complaints that were not timely reported. We will also discuss the appropriate response when the complainant simultaneously files criminal charges and an internal or administrative complaint.
Attendees will learn:
1. How to effectively train employees regarding sexual harassment without precipitating complaints;
2. How to investigate sexual harassment complaints;
3. How to develop documentation for litigation; and
4. What to do if a police report has been filed by the complainant.
